As Senior Executive Partner and Head of Studio, Grant Brooker leads a network of creative teams working across Europe, China, the Middle East and USA. During a career with Foster + Partners that has spanned more than three decades, he has guided the studio through significant expansion and change, alongside working on major projects, from London’s 30 St Mary Axe (aka ‘The Gherkin’) to the world’s first commercial spaceport in New Mexico. Grant has extended Foster + Partners’ global reach, setting up offices in Shenzhen and Warsaw all within buildings designed by the practice. His portfolio spans cultural landmarks, such as Narbo Via, a museum of Roman antiquities, the Marseille Vieux Port and Zénith de St Etienne concert hall, as well as airports in Panama, France and Poland, and a host of residential and mixed-use developments. Grant has also built a strong reputation for delivering successful commercial buildings in the City of London, including the ME Hotel, London. Grant studied in the creative environment of Canterbury School of Art – his interest in visual communication continues today in his oversight of the studio’s visualisation and film teams. Committed to breaking down barriers in the profession, Grant believes that Foster + Partners thrives on its rich mix of talent and continued ability to attract people from different backgrounds.

How we analyse and our process of creativity here is focused and ruthless in terms of examining ideas and throwing ideas away. You work through a series of options. Lots of people can bring their ideas. That idea gets broken down again. Then you look at all the versions. That's the collaborative team game.
